About Horst

Uncle Horst was a forest ranger from rural Austria. He logged trees and tended animals in the serenity of stunning Alpine meadows. Despite the beauty of the Alps, the sound of music Horst longed to hear was of Cranes fishing in the surf. Crescent Beach gave him the open-ocean lifestyle to watch long western sunsets and still be surrounded by mountain vistas. He would get up early, enjoy fresh local coffee, and then go beachcombing. He loved year-round gardening, and the soft smell of salt in the air. In the evening he would walk to the local pub for a leisurely pint.
